How to calculate One sample T test

The One Sample T test determines whether the sample mean is statistically different from a known or hypothesized population mean.

                                                              Or

The one-sample t-test is used to determine whether a sample comes from a population with a specific mean. Sometimes we might know the population mean or sometimes population mean is hypothesized.

We will take one example to calculate one sample t-test

A Team of scientists wants to test a new medication to see if it has either  a positive effect  or Negative effect on intelligence or no effect at all

We have population mean of 100

A sample datasets of 10 as shown below

From the above calculation degree of freedom is 9 and T value is 5.14 , Now have a look in to T table.

As we dont have T value 5.14 in the below table we took the maximum values in the table i.e 4.781

Now the P value is 0.0005 as per the T table, but when you calculate from Excel , Python or R you will get somewhere 0.0006

Conclusion:

As P value is very low we can reject the Null Hypothesis
